old habits never die

I decided to apply for school again and with the deadline quickly looming (January 15th) I find myself doing what I have always done to procrastinate.  Play lots and lots of freecell!

It's funny too that I have so much work to do and yet I feel bored and don't want to do it.  I thought after being out of school for so long and actually having a real job and responsibilities that I would be handling things differently now but really, I guess I haven't changed ALL that much.

Maybe going back to school is not such a good idea, hahah

With the recent stock market drops my 457 B deferred comp plan, my one and only investment, has dropped in value about 10% in the last 2 days and my lifetime rate of return stands at a robust -25.51%!!!!  I know I'm supposed to be patient and just let it grow... but even though I can't touch the money anyways, I feel like my investment adventure is just siphoning valuable money I could be using to spend on good food, cheap women, and fast cars.

In my infinite daily boredom I was reading the year to date summary of the officer involved shootings that involved the suspect being killed by the LA Times(although admittedly I would have and do read the homicide report pretty regularly).  I read this comment "What happen to just using lasers and shooting in the kneecap, uh? THE POLICE GET AWAY WITH THIS TYPE OF STUFF ALL THE TIME. Only GOD can judge us and when you get it back, it won't be good. Do these cops feel anything when it come to God?" and couldn't help but chuckle.  And yet, in talking with the general public and friends and family, this is the common point of view.  That the police have some super human ability to shoot-to-disable and we can draw upon any less-than-lethal weapon in a split second.

By the way, does anybody else find the new xanga design too complicated?  I liked the old school when it was all on my page, now I gotta search through 5 menus before I can find what I need.
